The oceans are the lifeblood of the earth and we owe
them.
The water we drink, the water with which the farmers irrigate their fields to
feed humanity and their pets, the water that falls from the sky to water the
earth to create forests and refresh the deserts, that water comes from the
oceans, even the water from which we are made, the water flowing through our
bodies and feed our cells come from the ocean. That ocean to which we owe
gratitude, each passing day is polluted with tons of wastewater (sewage), oil
spills, radioactive chemicals, mining waste, solid waste, etc. That ocean in
which we will swim on hot days to cool off, that ocean in which we will play
sports like rowing, surfing, diving, etc. That place where we go to meditate,
to mourn our losses and reflect, we are destroying it and with it the entire
planet. This is the reason why Ocean Art was born, an interdisciplinary art
exhibition that wants to create a collective awareness of the human being in
favor of non-polluted seas and at the same time makes a tribute in honor of our
body of water.
Without it, life wouldn’t exist and the planet would
be one more balloon in the lifeless cosmos.
